So, one nice spring day in May I flew from my city 800km away to Vancouver to photograph a band that inspires me so much and I couldn't have been more excited. TesseracT always, always, has been such an amazing band to photograph. They've been nothing but encouraging with me as a photographer, and in return I've always tried my hardest to capture their live performances to the best of my abilities; This show was no different.
When TesseracT announced a tour with Plini as the opener I lost my mind. Plini's music has been a huge source of creative inspiration and I was ridiculously excited at the prospect of capturing their show. Plini is an unbelievably talented musician and the crew of musicians he brought with him were just as top notched. Plini's live performance seemed to kick start my creativity into another gear and I'm happy that gave me enough of kick to capture this show to the best of my abilities. Hope you all dig these shots!
The insanely talented duo of Jason Richardson and Luke Holland joined Aaron and the Intervals crew on this tour. Jason is out supporting his second solo album, "I". The insanely talented guitarist was joined by a personal icon of mine. As a drummer growing up I'd watch Luke Holland's videos constantly, so seeing him in person was such an amazing treat. The duo blew everyone away with their blistering performance and got the audience moving. I don't think I've ever seen moshing at an instrumental music show, but there's a first for everything I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nick Johnston - the pride of Toronto, Ontario - Guitar Jesus himself, blessed the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver with his passion filled playing, soul filled riffs, and an all around amazing show. As a photographer this was probably my most favourite set I've ever shot, but at the same time I found myself as a spectator just in awe of this unbelievably talented man. His set will forever be one of my most amazing musical and photographic experiences.
